Radyo Natin (In English:Our Radio) is the biggest radio network in the Philippines. Composed of 100 stations covering the nation, from Claveria and Aparri, Cagayan in the north to Bongao, Tawi-tawi in the south.
Radyo Natin is found in the FM band. in the mornings it hooks up with Manila Broadcasting Company's flagship station, DZRH, to cover the news.
With central studios found at the MBC Building within the Star City Complex in Pasay, Radyo Natin sends its signals to its 100 stations by using satellite technology. These 100 stations then broadcast their signals to their respective areas of responsibility.
These individual Radyo Natin stations can, however, "unhook" from the Manila central studios and air events of their own localities on special specified hours.
Radyo Natin used to operate two kinds of Low Power FM stations. The first kind, operates with a transmitter power of 500W but with effective radiated power (ERP) of 1K. The other kind of stations have much lower power (100mw)these stations were allowed to operate by the NTC with permits issued during the time of Commissioner Rio. However, the same permits were recalled during the time of NTC Commissioner Borje.
As of 2011, RN is actually running close to 130 stations but its ad rates are still based on 100 stations.
In December 2008, TV Natin changed to DZRH RadyoVision, now RHTV - DZRH Television.
(TV Natin was in the pipeline, originally as part of the Radyo Natin project, but it was never launched. RHTV instead was launched as a separate MBC venture. Not even under the division of DZRH.) From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
